Primary Consumers


The rainforests are abundant with animals and there could be 40 to 100 different species of animals in 1 hectare (2.5 acres) There are many animals in the rainforests, from mammals to birds, and reptiles to amphibians. Another part of the rainforests are insects.
A primary consumer is a consumer that only feeds on producers.One type of primary consumers are the monkeys. Monkeys live in the trees and eat mainly fruits, plants, seeds, nuts, and leaves. Some types of fruit that monkeys eat are mangoes, bananas, and Jambu.
One type of monkey is the Howler Monkey, who live in the rainforest canopy. Some predators that preys on the Howler Monkeys are the Harpy Eagles, jaguars, and snakes. The howler monkeys enjoy their time taunting the jaguars, by throwing things at them and howling. Another type of monkey is the orangutan. They mainly eat fruits like figs. They also eat nut leaves and whatever is on
the tree they are on.
Another type of monkey is the orangutan. The orangutan is an orange monkey that eats anything that is on the tree it is on. They normally eat fruits, especially figs. They also eat nut leaves and tree bark. They spend most of their day resting, sleeping, and foraging for food.
